A Note from Our Director
School is just around the corner! It will be here before we know it! All the classrooms have new floors and they are absolutely beautiful!
Now, more important news ~ Tommy has asked us to read “Parenting beyond your Capacity” by Reggie Joiner & Carey Nieuwhof. I am only beginning chapter 3, but so far it has been an amazing read. As a mother of two wonderful teenage daughters, it is refreshing to be reminded that God does not expect our families to be ‘picture perfect’. What He actually wants to do is to take each family and write a bigger story about He comes into our lives, lives through us and transforms us ~ ultimately for HIS glory! We need not compare ourselves to anyone else. God is all about restoration and redemption! Hallelujah for brand new beginnings! I encourage every parent to read this book!
I am looking to seeing all the teachers, children and families to return! I truly believe God has an amazing year planned for us! For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11
Many blessings!

Curriculum
Celebration Baptist Kinderschool uses "Wee Learn" which stands for Weekday Early Education. This Christian material uses Preschool centers to promote the child's development in all areas. The purpose of this guide is to provide a framework on which teachers can build an early childhood program that allows children to grow and develop as Jesus did..."in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man." (Luke 2:52)
The curriculum for the Kindergarten program is multi-faceted. The A Beka curriculum is used to teach phonics, math and science. The math curriculum will also consist of math activity kits by Math Your Way. For handwriting, we will have Zaner-Bloser workbooks. A computer lab with age appropriate computer software will also enhance the curriculum.
Chapel Time
Chapel Time is provided for the threes, fours and fives and is located in the B.L.A.S.T. Room in the Family Activities Building. We learn Bible stories that relate to the monthly themes being taught in each classroom. We sing praise songs while "signing" them, and we learn to pray together. This is a special time for everyone and parents are always welcome to join us.
Music, Movement and Media
Music is a great teaching tool for children. All the classes will use music as a learning tool. Each week the three, four and five year olds will have a music class with a Resource teacher using instruments, CDs and other fun ways to appreciate music. For all other ages, music time will be incorporated into their classroom schedule.
Each class will use movement as a gross motor learning tool. Each week the three, four and five year olds will be participating in a class with a Resource teacher where the children can develop an awareness of their bodies, physical skills and creativity. The activities are simple and can be done in a spirit of enjoyment.
The classroom teachers will be using a lot of story time, flannel board and other forms of media. The children in three, four and five year old classes will have additional media with a Resource teacher. This is a special time in which puppets, drama and a lot of fun will take place. For all other ages, media will be incorporated into their classroom schedule.

Before School Care
For the upcoming 2010/11 school year we will be offering before school care from 8:00 – 9:00. The fee for Before-School Care will be $100 per month per child. The rate for T/Th attendance is $40 and the rate for M/W/F is $60. We will provide a morning snack before they go to their class.
The purpose of this Before-School Care is to provide care for children whose parents need child care before 9:00.
I am so excited about how God is working and how He has asked us to join HIM in ministry. Thank you again for your support of this wonderful God-given preschool and kindergarten.
We will have calendars available at our student orientation on Friday, August 27th or you can email me at plueck@icelebration.org to let me know if you are interested in attending Before-School Care.
