COMPASSION - It is the heart of God and proof to the world that we are disciples of Christ.  Although some expressions of love where mixed with grief and unexpected tragedy, we continue to be involved in many areas:

• We celebrate God's care for Grace Chen's family and church in her tragic death. We expressed our love to the family and church through an offering and letter to her church. 
• We celebrate our partnership with schools in helping them serve our children.  Landscape installation, setup help, teacher's breakfast and student backpacks for Montford Middle School.  Moved furniture for Killearn Lakes Elementary.  Provided over 100 backpacks for Gadsden County Students.
• We celebrate our Disaster Relief Team as they have responded on a number of occasions to help those in need in the Tallahassee area and in the aftermath of Fay's wind and tremendous rainfall.
• We celebrate our partnership with Florida Baptist Disaster Relief Team as they helped so many in our community in the storm's aftermath.  We were privileged to provide them space from which to operate and function as well as a place to stay overnight. 
• We celebrate being able to check on our Senior Adult members and going out in the community meeting people with needs after the storm.
• We celebrate our Benevolence ministry as it gave away food and assistance to those in need, so much so that now our Food Pantry is bare!  (Food Drive bags will be available in classrooms this Sunday)

CBC is excited to be expanding our offerings of International Missions trips.  Contact the church office if you are interested in participtating in any of the trips below.

Need: Medical and Construction. Help rebuild a church destroyed by a mudslide.

Simeulue, Indonesia
Date: Fall 2008
Need: Certified Divers to help facilitate training.

Bangkok, Thailand
Date: 9/08 and 11/08
Need: To teach English as a second language, prayer walking, and ministry.
